In the summer of 2000, the 98 existing light cubes in one of the transfer tunnels at the Elbtunnel in St. Pauli have been replaced by the colourful light cubes designed by the artist Hans J. Wiegner.
Through the artistic colour combination of this site-specific installation, the visitors got the impression to dive horizontally along the 450m long tunnel: from a bright overwater situation into the depth of the’subaquatic-light’.
