Isaac Yuen holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Biology, a B.Tech in Environmental Engineering, and a Masters of Arts in Environmental Education and Communication. He is the creator of Ekostories: Nature, culture, and self, an award-winning blog series that has garnered over half a million views since launch while exploring the power of story to affect environmental change. A former project scientist managing contaminated sites, Isaac currently works as an environmental advisor with the Recycling Council of British Columbia on a host of zero waste and circular economy initiatives. Isaac was a 2019 nature writer-in-residence at the Jan Michalski Foundation in Montricher, Switzerland; his essays and short stories have been published in Orion, Shenandoah, Tin House online, The Willowherb Review, and numerous other publications. He is passionate about honing effective messaging and narratives to promote sustainability and lasting behavioural change.
