The archAIve project officially launched with a kick-off meeting hosted by MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan, bringing together all project partners for the beginning of a 30-month collabration supported by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
We want to explore how archAIve can reactivate Europe’s media art archives as a living process for critical engagement with AI in collaboration with MEET Digital Culture Center (Italy), New Art Foundation (Spain), Museu Zer0 (Portugal), Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision / Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid (Netherlands), and Public Art Lab (Germany).
The kick-off meeting brought partners together to present their practices, research approaches, and institutional contexts, while aligning on shared goals for exploring the intersections of digital art, artificial intelligence, and cultural heritage.
In autumn 2026, we will launch an open call inviting 18 artists to join us and shape this process together.
We’re excited to begin this journey together and look forward to the collaborations, experiments, and exchanges ahead.
