Varvara Guljajeva is an artist and researcher working with art and technology. Varvara has exhibited her art pieces in a number of international shows and festivals. Recently she has been commission by Google and Barbican Centre for creating a new art piece for Digital Revolution exhibition.

She has background in art and also information technology: the bachelor degree in Information Technology was gained from IT College in Estonia, master degree in digital media from ISNM in Germany and currently is a PhD candidate at the Estonian Art Academy. She has presented her research at several conferences and her work has appeared in number of publications.

Varvara is concerned about the new forms of art and innovation. Thus, she applies and challenges technology and traditional production methods in order to explore novel concepts in art and design. Varvara works together with Mar Canet as an artist-duo since 2009.

Varvara works together with Mar Canet as an artist-duo, together they developed the project ‘Binoculars to… Binoculars from…‘ during the Networked City 2013 in the frameworks of the Connecting Cities Network.
