FACT is one of the UK’s leading media arts organizations, housed in a versatile building encompassing three galleries, four cinema screens, a café and a bar. FACT’s mission is to provide a place for people, art and technology to meet, with the aim of nurturing and developing innovative minds, supporting emergent talent and creating a culture of curiosity. It was established in 1988, and has since been showing leadership in the fields of video, film and digital media, with ground-breaking exhibition, education and research programmes. The organisation aims to pioneer new forms of artistic and social interaction with individuals and communities, exploring issues of contemporary relevance through hybrid methodologies merging processes of research, education, collaboration, presentation and distribution. During its history, FACT has commissioned and presented over 250 digital media works with artists including Bill Viola, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Vito Acconci and Isaac Julien.
