julius von bismarck

Julius von Bismarck is an artist between art, science and technology. His projects investigate perception, manilpulation and documentation of the urban space. He studiert Visual Communication at the UdK Berlin and is since 2009 Masterclass student at Institut für Raumexperimente (Institute for Spatial Experiments) “Klasse Olafur Eliasson”.
For the Media Facades Festival 2008 he developed together with Richard Willhelmer und Benjamin Maus the project ‘The Mood Gasometer – How is Schöneberg doing today’ which was shown in Berlin on the Nightscreen-Gasometer. The Gasometer is a megalomaniac barometer of the city: Hidden face-to-recognition cameras measure the average state of minds of passers-by. Their moods will light up above the city, transformed in colours, forms, and symbols.
